This is a really useful and concise set of rules (and signs that you have violated them) for writing clear and compelling scientific papers. The rules are pretty obvious but so often broken that they bear repetition, reinforcement and emphasis. This is a great book by ecologist Dr. Josh Schimel about how to become a better writer. A must have for every scientific writer
